Re: User generated video...
Sorry to hear about that--my "remote" experience w/the CBC (with their insight news/analysis for instance..having survived the Harper years) has been great.    Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Re: User generated video...
Since you're kind enough to give us a "firing line" perspective on Canada, are there any other "up and comers"?   For instance, is CBC trying to be creative just as "BBC is in the UK?

@mpouraryan for me Netflix always play it smart in USA in Canada Netflix is other story... but Amazon Canada also not to great if compared to Amazon USA... As I prefer Netflix USA and Amazon.com/USA - just my two cents...

That could certainly happen if something better than Netflix comes along and kills Netflix like Netflix killed Blockbuster... I'm surprised that the DVDs by Mail service still exists sometimes.

..but remember Amazon does not mind "failing"--and has the cash to back it up.   As for HBO, if the AT&T merger goes thru, that could be a game changer.

Re: User generated video...
Amazon is a secondary threat to Netflix after the primary threat of a string of "flop" shows. HBO has the same risk that they'll invest in an expensive series that simply doesn't attract a large audience.

Thanks for sharing--but Netlfix, as the article corredtly pointed out, has some headwinds to deal with--and remember the 1000-lb guerrilla in the room: Amazon.
