Re: Can't take a call and surf the net at the same time! GRRR!
@batye Totally agree! Can't wait for 5G!

I think we're going to see some really great applications that leverage 5G in the future. This will benefit both enterprises and consumers. Just need to get there...

5G is really going to change the landscape. Instead of having to constantly connect to wireless hotspots, I'll just be able to tether with 5G. Should be just as fast as wireless connections, and could be even more consistent.

So true! I can think of dead spots in the nearby town. 2 & 3G are all that's available in some areas (sadly).

Can't take a call and surf the net at the same time! GRRR!
LTE is almost everywhere, but there are still some annoying places where the network hasn't been upgraded -- and you can't talk/text/surf at the same time! (Can you hear me now?!)

I can't wait until 5G is deployed, but I wonder how many places will still be operating on 3G (or even 2G..) when the future arrives, unevenly distributed.

Have we hit ultra-computing yet?
> "..you're going to head back into what I would call supercomputing. Except that instead of it being in a single location and architected in a proprietary fashion, it's now a distributed supercomputer in multiple datacenters spread along the countryside."

Supercomputing has changed exponentially over the last few decades, and it's only now starting to asymptotically grow in a more linear fashion (barring any quantum computing breakthroughs). But have we reached "ultra-computing" now that we're connecting supercomputers together?

Web-Scale Impact on IOT & 5G
I like 5G as it relates to having more data for smartphones tablets and IOT/Internet of Things so them being impacted from Web Scale is great because web scale does online with networking etc. I'm halways for more data when it comes to slow speeds of the internet or whatever.
