@Ariella yes, they do and they do born smarter each new generation as it seems :)  as they like born with the smart phone in they hand...

I hate having to sit through menus and they almost never have an option for what I am actually calling for.

@baty it's true fo r alot of us, but I think for my kids' generation that is changing with different habits of communication for Gen Z.

@clrmoney with any technology nothing is 100% perfect, as smooth working at the end do take time... people still prefer talk to live human :) - as per our nature...

@Ariella, I am with you on that. 

Along with automation, in a new model, I believe the future is one where the automation serves and augments the humans (on both ends), as opposed to being a barrier.  That requires new networks where you create the savings by automating the non-essentials (customer service is not a non-essential), and uses human talent more effectively; which builds value for the company.

I think Markit's Howard has it right; and it does require new "testing" of models to discover what works best.

Some of us also like to speak to a real human being every once in a while, though I do know that surveys of younger generations show they are more accepting of doing everything without any human intervention.

They already have automated answering machines service for business and personal and atms etc. I don't think that everything needs to go automated because I know that they will always be glitch in the system somewhere. So I would like to keep a actual human being for some things or many.
