Ditto!
Congrats to everyone who won!
It's so much fun reading through all the entries. It was a tough competition this month - I don't envy Mike for having to narrow it down to choose 3 :)

Fun
Being a winner is fun, but being able to read all of these funny comments is just as rewarding, the world needs more laughter.
Re: Fun
Congrats, afwriter! (And srufolo & mhh as well!) Well done!

Thanks, Joe! This was a really fun cartoon -- who doesn't love a good robot?
Re: Fun

Thumbs up to C3PO and R2D2. Thumbs down to Skynet. ;)

Re: Fun
Haha.. exactly. Only good robots are welcome...
Because even "neutral" robots could paperclip maximize us to extinction or leave us to die locked in a bunker.

@mhh: Don't forget the dreaded "grey goo" scenario...
...although since then, one of the original "grey goo" paper writers has since backed off of the theory, postulating that the scenario -- because of how complex nanotechnology is -- could never happen by sheer accident and would have to be very purposefully implemented.

Re: Fun
> "Don't forget the dreaded "grey goo" scenario..."
I've always wondered why it's not the "green goo" scenario -- since I think a biotech "goo" that takes over the world is far more likely. All it takes is some genetically engineered viral material that figures out how to infect everything and not die....
Evolution has natural limitations that have seemed to hold it in check, but if humans mess around with biology enough (maybe without knowing enough), we could create an artificial ecology that doesn't care about diversity or population growth or survival of the fittest.

i i i everything else
> "After some rigorous arguing with myself"
In this context, reminds me of robots -- essentially very similar "brains", albeit separate entities -- arguing with themselves or each other -- such as the whole "i i can i i i everything else"/"balls have a ball to me to me to me to me to me to me to me" argument/negotiation (which, I seem to recall, one of the entries referred to) -- or the myriad videos of Alexa setups talking to each other.
Not that there's anything robotic about the contest! Lots of good entries.
Re: i i i everything else
Yes it was ok but there were other photos which I thought would have been the winner and could have awards too but it's now done and it will remain unchanged. Best Academic Writing Help UK

Re: i i i everything else
It was indeed fun to see the entries--but there is a serious side to it especially as we see guys like Elon laying out the doomsday scenarios that should give us all a moment of pause (which I have alluded to during my "virtual rounds" here in TT) and some may tire of it--but we must be aware--and make sure we harness it the right and righteous way....
Re: i i i everything else
@mp: Elon Musk's not alone... For the most part, I think a lot of the anti-AI warnings are so much baseless scaremongering when it comes to the more minor stuff in the grand scheme of things (particularly when it comes to the whole "They took our jerbs!" fear), but there is a very real existential threat.
There's a great play called R.U.R. -- the first work to coin the term "robot" -- from about 100 years ago that quite lucidly and intelligently lays out such a dystopian future.

Re: i i i everything else
What I would humbly note though, @Joe, is that we have to make sure we maintain the ultimate "oversight" of it all--Facebook did as it shut down a few of the Languages--if we harness it right, the possiblities are limitless. I am reminded of a recent article by the WSJ's Greg Ip who noted, "..we survived Spreadsheets...we'll survive AI...". It is up t us (and some of our work here underscores this--to create the future--and it does not matter what age one is!!!
