Comprehensive Program
It sounds like Orange has developed an extremely comprehensive program which allows cities starting to transition to "smart" to leverage the experience of more established smart cities. That certainly gives them an advantage over potential competition. Curious to see how the evolution of smart cities may impact regulations regarding how that data is maintained & shared (or vice-versa - how existing regulations might impact the development of smart cities)

Re: Comprehensive Program
I'm wondering if the diplomatic blockade put in place against Qatar in June has had any impact on its progress on the tech front.

Re: Comprehensive Program
@faryl, good assessment.  They have definitely created a structure and system that is responsive to cities and should enable them to utilize the technology as a developed capability to deliver better services and optimize them (ie "Smart" with SDN).

Controlling Smart Cities
This is interesting and I like how the use 4G/5G gigabytes for Smart Cities. You can't have enough data the more data the better for a lot of things.

Re: Controlling Smart Cities
I was surprised that they are going right away to broadband networks. That maybe because they are concentrating on city centers with high density residential and business property.

SDN controls
I think they created a great product plus with 4g I personaly can never get enough data.  It was a shock though that they are deciding to go with broadbrand first.  That's there opiinon and we have to live with it.

SDN Controls Smart City Labyrinth
Dubai has certainly been busy making its city the happiest city on earth. Keep hearing about all its technological advances. Orange has a huge role apparently in making some of the Middle Eastern cities smart cities.

Re: Comprehensive Program
Good point, regulations, and bureaucracy are always getting in the way of progress. On the other hand, we don't really want any data falling into the wrong hands unnecessarily.

Re: Comprehensive Program
If any one company could make this happen and do it right, I think it would be Orange. Not that they are infallible, but they seem to be the leader of the pack in innovation right now.
