I'd have to gamble Google will scale up.
Look, Oracle talks a lot about cloud. But really, isn't what they are doing still a bunch of on-premise? Isn't it still just a bunch of servers in a local datacenter serving up "cloud"?
That's why I think Google the next one up.

I feel like I am missing something obvious - why did it take so long for them to announce its availability and why so mum on pricing?

@faryl Usually when announcements come out with little clarity like this is mean availability is wherever the most customers are and the pricing is negotiable.

Ah - so it's like when vendors/contractors have the "call for rates" on their sites next to their services instead of having them listed up front.

What's great here is the idea that ethernet can scale further than it ever has been able to before. The technology has been constrained by hardware for forever.
