Managing Expectations
Well explained about three key factors to be worked on for any VR initiative - Lead time, Expectations and Camera placement.

Out of the three i would think managing expectations would be the most critical one as it directly correlates with the outcome. Once we set right expectations in the market then the product would be perceived as such and the judgemnet or feedback would be inline.

The othet two logistics are also no less important as lead time may impact the delivery timelines while camera placemnet may impact the view and quality.

Constraints
I absolutely see revenue being great constraint in this tough economic times. As much excited as we get we also got to be aware that this whole thing is an expensive ordeal. The infrastrure is no cheap.

Re: Constraints
@Ms. I can't argue that, but I think the price will go down and just like anything else that we take for granted in this country people will have to prioritize whether it is worth being a part of their budget or not.

Re: Constraints
@afwriter:

Yes, that is right. When things are new all its equipments tends to be expensive. As it gets settled down, prices go down automatically. But right level of due diligence and prioritization is very important for companies  when starting up with these initiatives.

Re: Constraints
I was just regaling a group of youngsters the other day with a tale about how DVD players were a few hundred dollars when they first came out.

Re: Constraints
That is so true and now that has become a thing of past. I still remember playing music in my casette player. Those are all good old times as playing music in player, watching a DVD movie use to be very precious. Now that there are are many choices for movies, music it has just become like one of the things. Nothings seems so special any more.

Re: Constraints
I remember when production creativity led to poker being good television when previously it was not. VR could indeed do the same for some sports that in the past have not been made for TV. How about bowling?
