From "nice" to "essential", faster than usual
EPC was a luxury in 4G, because although putting both voice and data through the same packet structure was convenient for programmers for some specialized applications and helped others to speed up, it wasn't costly to support older apps/systems by maintaining the old separated data and voice channels as well. But the combination of 5G and IoT is going to create a screaming demand for all the bandwidth you can get, and so the 5G world will be driven pretty hard to all-EPC because maintaining the older system will just be too costly.

We will see many more stories like this one, as the onrush of 5G forces a cascade of changes in the supporting systems. But no one can afford to not keep up with the change, so it will come, and very quickly.

Re: EPC Rebounds Up
IoT will certainly be revenue-producing. These types of offerings allow that to happen.

It's going to take time for these deployments to scale and generate profits. But I think we're closer to that reality than ever before.

A 30% gain is very respectable, indeed.

EPC Rebounds Up
This is great for EPC and I like how they upgrading networks like LTE Internet of Things that we use everday like cellphones etc. So I say continue the progression.
