Good foundations
I like that the winner doesn't just get the recognition of winning, but actually benefits with the alliance of seniored telcos. Not only does it allow all of the businesses to feed off each other, but it allows the seniored telcos that ability to make sure the business they are claiming as "winner" truly earns that title and doesn't in anyway besmudge their name. They can be sure the winner continues to perform to the standards that created the win in the first place. Very sound reasoning. Like if a college gave a student a scholarship and then forced them to take part in tutoring as part of the win, to ensure they would stay in that same seat.

More winners
I think they should have more engaging or content interesting content to post something and they should have more winners.

Needs more Shark Tank...
Contests like these need more of a reality show spin to make them more interesting for non-tech heads.... Just announcing a list of winners doesn't actually promote them much beyond getting some possible name recognition.

Re: Good foundations
@elizabethv, I share your view that connecting them with established businesses and prospective telco partners truly provides key value to them and assists them in positioning in the marketplace.

Re: Needs more Shark Tank...
It sounds like the value may be more a foot-in-the-door towards some collaboration opportunities more than the publicity factor. I wonder if it's because it's more about B2B relationships for them right now?

What I Like About You
Maybe there is something more to this than meets the eye. Go Ignite will team up with these start-up contest winners, then later down the road acquire them.

Re: What I Like About You
There is no question that such "frightful" souls will be on the lookout because they have the be paranoid--otherwise they will be rendered useless befor they know it.   I was thinking about this as I saw an old movie called "The Peacemaker" that featured a Digital Laptop prominenthly (anyone remember Digital)?

Re: What I Like About You
@srufolo1 - That could be a possibility. I suppose it depends on the reasons for holding the contest to begin with. A genuine desire to work with a new upstart company and gather new ideas and opinions, or creating a way to absorb a smaller company they know holds a lot of potential.

Re: What I Like About You
@mpouraryan - Such a good movie! But it's always so crazy to watch the older movies/tv shows and see the older technology. Lately I've been watching Scarecrow and Mrs. King, from the 80s. The technology is laughable at times. Especially since their entire office is filled with the old massive computer screens and printers with the perferated sides. Media allows us to remember the good ole days. Lol

Re: What I Like About You
We must appreciate the past to embrace the future--I reflected upon this very fact as I caught another good one (in my view at least) of an old Nicole Kidman/George Clooney moive, "the peacmaker" (that the challenge done there is so appropriate now)--I got a kick out of seeing Digital Equipment Corporation laptops being featured..and when Nicole Kidman's Laptop went off saying , "...you've got mail!!" :) :) :)

Onward.....
