One Step at a Time
This a great step forward for SDN and NFV. Slowly but surley, a new industry standard is making its way.

Cross platform?
How well do virtual testing environments work on mixed hardware platforms? Hmmm

Operator's Opinions
<"Virtualization has shifted the testing responsibilities to operators," Wong says in Clark's story. "In the NFV environment you have many different vendors. You can imagine the difficulties in doing testing.">

Any word on how the operators feel about this? I would think that this would be a little annoying for them, but I also think that it is the best solution.

Re: Operator's Opinions
@afwriter, agreed.  If they have taken this into account and can address this issue smoothly for the operators it should be attractive.  They do need to connect the dots to gain confidence in working through this new testing option.

If they do, it looks like a great option.

Huawei Debuts SDN/NFV Testing Platform
Huawei's TestCraft platform is meant to reduce complexities for service providers with SDN/NFV testing. And it can be done in the cloud. Sounds like a good idea.

Seeing is Believing
If all goes well, this may lead to SDN and NFV replacing traditional networks as the traditional networks. It's only a good idea once it proves to be a good idea.

Re: Seeing is Believing
Agreed. This only gains traction if there is a clear economic benefit all around. Otherwise barriers will be created to another this baby before it can thrive.
