GDPR
<GDPR goes all the way down to the IP address, in some instances considering that to be PII [personally identifiable information].> That indicates that GDPR is going to have a massive effect. Perhaps we should be paying more attention to it.

Hmm. Good stock tip?
Maybe it's time to short companies that are vendors of Jurassic era firewalls? :P Though those vendors have probably diversified their products....

Re: GDPR
GDPR *will* have a massive effect on how companies handle PII -- and not just in the EU. Hopefully, the effect will be positive and not just a bureaucratic nightmare for data center managers. Companies like Equifax are going to need to take a much stronger stance on security because the liability is going to be a huge risk shortly.

Re: GDPR
I have no doubt that "bureaucratic nightmare for data center managers" will be a major component, but we can also hope for some positive effects, as well.

Cloud Evolution
I liked when they talked about SD-WAN compatibility because you will need it dealing with programs and newtorks relating to Cloud so I'm sure it will be more to come as times goes on.

Re: Cloud Evolution
It's here to stay, but I think it's going to change significantly because of security issues. We're going to see more tools and analytics, but also new forms of 2FA and even biometrics to keep data safe.

Re: Cloud Evolution
I'm a bit concerned about using biometrics before we've figured out the bugs of data loss. If a third party steals your fingerprints or retinal scan... how can you change your login?
