@Mike: Yeah, anything that involves computer crime, identity theft, or any "non-routine" violation of federal law (i.e., non-routine for munis) should generally be reported to the FBI or other appropriate federal law-enforcement agency. In my experience, depending upon the department, many local officers are ill-equipped to handle and/or relatively apathetic about such things -- but a well-placed call to the feds can shut that stuff down pretty darn quick.
