SDN/NFV Cross Checks
I like how the talked about the 3Ds and the one the stuck out the most for me was double checking because you can never be too sure because there may be some errors or inaccuracies.

Security
I think it is interesting that he points out that the biggest security threats are from human error and a lack of diligence. Obviously, there is a lot to be done in terms of security but it is a good reminder that we have some responsibility in it too.

Re: Security
@afwriter: Indeed. My conversation with Ritter reminded me of a cybersecurity session I attended at the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium a few years ago in which an expert panelist was practically leaping out of his chair in excitement as he went on about how -- for all of our conversations about and interest in advanced InfoSec tools and methodologies -- people are "leaving the windows open and the front door unlocked!"

Re: Security
@Joe I am terrible about that both in physical life and online. I know that I should be using things like VPNs but a lot of times I don't out of laziness. I know that I am not the only one, and the scary part is that I know better, there are a lot of people out there that have no idea how vulnerable they are.

Plenty even believe they have nothing worth stealing (physical items or accounts). They would be wrong about that too.

Re: Security
I agree and it’s scary! I think the more people know and realize the more likely they’ll understand what they have to lose. It’s not a joke and many people just don’t get it.

Re: Security
@afwriter:

Agree with you. Human errors play a big role in preventing security issues. Also to add is being aware of importance of security and its associated measures. In one of the forums we discussed that this can be addressed by introducing 'Security Awareness' modules as part of employee on-boarding trainings.
