Quantitative information on cybersecurity
All kinds of views are expressed about what works in cybersecurity without data to support any one of them. For example, open software is considered insecure by some but there are others who say it is scrutinized by a larger community so bugs are fixed. What is the data to support it one way or another? Then you people saying AI is the way to go to build defenses while there are others who say that if there are bugs in the software, hackers will find a way to hack. So preventive measures are needed to ensure that these vulnerabilities are not there to start. Where is the data to show that methodologies like SDLC are able to achieve zero defect software? I am not sure how you can reconcile these conflicting views if there is no data.
