@dcawrey, well stated.  We have to learn how to use the technology in the best cases to realize the best values.  It always seems to begin as a gee-whiz "toys" approach until it takes on the real business value and becomes more mainstream.  In other words, just adopting because it is new and cool is not the same as truly establishing new IoT adoptions that replace or augment existing technologies.

While I would tend to agree that we don't need so many rules I would say that the regulation in this instance isn't so much for rules as it is for standards. When new technologies like this roll through it helps to get everyone one the same page.

Just like most emerging technology, it is usually disruptive before incbumbents see the value. It seems this is what is happening with drones. There is a shift going on because this techology is simply cheaper than regular aircraft for disaster recovery.

I don't see why are we have so much rules that don't nobody really follow but with IOT I would think they would already have some type of security abd maybe they have something no one else has that is best for the business of what they have to offer them.
