ONAP with Amsterdam
This is great for ONAP/Open Network Automation Platform to expand to new and different things from different countries. They have this coding aspect about doing things which will probably make it easier to open or connect things. I think that Amsterdam has a lot to offer for customers so I say continue doing great business.

Seems to undermine the product/platform distinction
I can well understand why they want to make sure people think of Amsterdam as a platform, but I can also understand why, to so many people, it looks like a product. But that should sort itself out soon enough, if Amsterdam succeeds; almost every platform began as "just another product".  The ones that then remain products forever are the ones that don't grow a dense network of applications around them; the ones that disappear into a thicket of applications and uses get recognized as platforms.  But when the thing is new, with only a handful of applications and a user community that could meet on a conference call, they all look like platforms.  Patience, Amsterdam!

ONAP one step more towards Network Function Cloudification
ONAP is a great opportunity to Telco Industry players and new actors to move with Telco transformation journey from what I called Hardware dominated operator to software based operator. In fact Amsterdam release is just the beginning and let's say the starting point for what is expected as a target goal. in my point of view This is a great job for all participants and community to put in the ground a common version and adress a reasonable use cases addressing current industry concerns (vCPE and VoLTE) within a new Ecosystems including but not limited to "New VNF vendors", "Traditional Telco providers"," Operators"," OpCo Group", "Telco integrators", "Partners".... Telco transformation is NOT a direct path and intermediate steps are needed to achieve native cloud model for telecom industry's transforming the Telco vendor from hardware to pure software delivery model and partners from Hardware integrator to cloud integrators/migrations and Operator to Agile player operating with cloud native model with a specific and strong partnerships models... Everyone will look at ONAP from his point of view and from his expectation and when considering the big picture with 360°we can discover that is an excellent achievement helping and supporting the complete telco Industry and IS A KEY OF SUCCESS FOR Telco workload automation and cloudification and this is where all ONAP benefits and values. Vitualization is one step and cloudification is the right way in fact we are brinking more complexity to the network with higher cost and if we are not able to automize end to end the workload the game will be lost ... In ground we have a mutienvirnement platform and mutli vendor ecosystems (from compute, storage, network, storage virtualization, compute virtulization, network virtualization, Hypervisor vendor, VIM vendor, VNF vendors, VNFM/EM per application vendor,VNFO...) so it is must to standardize with ONAP or like ONAP initiative which is unique at the moment to complete and build an important part for Telco transformation which is build BY OPERATOR TO OPERATOR and shared after to open source community.. Also I would like to notice that this should be evaluated within the complete transformation roadmaps addressing Busniess&Strategy , Operation&Support, Technology, Skills,Organization&Proceess We are in paradigm shift within Telco Industry which is under pressure for their internal organization to find the right path for NFV/SDN/CLOUDIFICATION journey and to achieve digitilization to the end customer asking for similar OTT services as he is familiar with.
