OpensStack CSP Success
I think that this is wonderful for OpenStack and continue much success and growth. That was probably a good move to get NFV/Network Functions Virtualization because it has a lot lot to offer when communications with hardware or software and networking connections.

I think it's crazy that 84% of respondents say that they are actively engaged with OpenStack. I think that by itself shows you how important OpenStack is. It also makes you wonder about the other 16%.

@afwriter well, it wouldn't be all that credible if they claimed 100%, would it? Anyway, there are always some people who don't do what most do.

OpenStack Key to CSPs' Success
Hi all,

I'm not too sure if OpenStack is really cutting it in the CSP space. I've heard of numerous challenges and problems related to OpenStack and whether it is able to deliver the robust carrier grade solution that Telcos are looking. What would be worth doing is a specific study on this and seeing how some of the bigger Tier 1 are overcoming these challenges.

Re: OpensStack CSP Success
@clrmoney, I agree. These statistics show that OpenStack is gained in popularity with companies globally. I am sure that these numbers will continue to rise over the next 5 years especially with the increased popularity of 5G, VR and AR.

OpenStack
OpenStack will become more popular with companies as companies move towards cloud solutions - either public, private or hybrid solutions. It would be interesting to see the statistics for the verticals and how they are using or plan to use OpenStack and the cloud.

Re: OpensStack CSP Success
@afwriter. I agree. Those statistics are amazing. The 16% are the companies that are: afraid of change, don't have the budget to use OpenStack, don't see the value in its benefits or lack executive support.

Re: OpensStack CSP Success
@Ariella, LOL! That is so true. I definitely wouldn't believe that 100% of companies are using OpenStack. You always have to leave some room when gathering data for surveys. Although, I am still a little skeptical about the 84% number.

@freehe you really have to look more closely at how many people were surveyed and where they are to assess how accurate and significant the percentages are.
