T-Mobile on 5G
T-Mobile is a popular company in a way but them if they want to take huge risk and opportunities for a great outcome then go for or then again it may be a miss but you have to try for this 5G

Question
I may be completely off on this but it sounds like T-mobile was late to the sale and now they are trying to pass off the store brand spectrum as the same as the name brand spectrum that AT&T and Verizon bought. I also thought it was interesting that millimeter wave has trouble getting through glass among other things which could cause problems for all of us in the future.

Re: Question
@afwriter a glass barrier could be a serious problem. Even within buildings, there are often glass partitions.

Re: Question
T-mobile has always had "2nd tier" spectrum. But it makes up for it with some faster speeds and lower prices and bundle deals like included Netflix and data caps that don't apply to some video services, etc, etc...

Users will be willing to accept some signal loss inside a building if they can still get 4K Netflix at least somewhere in their house.

Re: Question
@mhhf1ve that explains Verizon's attempt to market to my area with a bundle that includes Netflix free for a year. It may have gotten the idea from T-Mobiel.

Re: Question
@mhh: Depends what building. If it's your office or your school or your home, then it's much more tenuous, to put it generously.

I've considered switching providers simply as a matter of one provider not providing good service in a particular event venue I frequent.

Re: Question
@Ariella: Yeah, it's all about the carrier WiFi...because all of this densification to support IoT gets crazy expensive.

Re: Question
@Joe if all else is equal, that certainly woudl tip the scales in favor of the other provider.

Re: Question
@Ariella: Of course, as we know from a comparison of pricing plans, customer service, and sheer coverage, all things are never equal here. ;)

Re: T-Mobile on 5G
I agree! They have to at least try. If they don’t they’ll be left behind and the other companies will surely move ahead.
