Re: ME and 5Gx
@mhh: I remember reading somewhere that these letters/brand additives are used to make us subconsciously think of, ahem, the one thing that universally sells. (This is why cars frequently have "SX" models").

Look for 5GSXL+ any day now.

Re: 5G Maine Event
@afwriter: Speaking as a New Englander, "near dial-up speeds" may not be giving Maine -- at least, parts of it -- enough credit. Lots of the more boondock-y parts of Maine have reliable fixed wireline *and* wireless broadband.

Re: ME and 5Gx
I'm surprised there aren't more of these marketing derivatives-- like 5G+ or 5G# or 5GS+... who needs standards anymore?

Re: 5G Maine Event
I don't know much about rural Maine, but I wonder if this is a win for them? If I was in a rural area with near dial up speeds and a company came in with this thing called 5G I think I'd buy in even if it isn't real 5G.

ME and 5Gx
5Gx! That's innovative (not)!

I mean, they couldn't do the whole .5 thing again; the industry already did that with 4.5G.

In any case, there's not a tremendous amount of broadband competition in Maine, so I guess they can call it whatever they want up there and it really won't matter.

5G Maine Event
You don't really hear about Maine at all or very often so with them having somthing or doing business with Maine is great because 5G will be something that they can use  in their daily lives and maybe it makes it easier for them in a way.
