Huawei Rules the CSP RoostAfter a breakout year in 2015, Huawei is the largest supplier of technology and services to communications service providers across the globe. Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. dislodged Ericsson AB (Nasdaq: ERIC) from the top spot, according to its audited financial results for 2015, as reported by Light Reading News Editor and Telco Transformation Editor-in-Chief Iain Morris. (See Huawei: New King of the CSP Market.) Privately held Huawei recently announced its audited results for last year, which include group revenues of $61 billion at current exchange rates. (See Huawei Profits Soar Despite Forex Hit.) The carrier business group, which markets its products and services to communication service providers (Cusps), accounted for 59% of last year's revenues. The carrier business group, which is now the clear market leader, competes against Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO), Ericsson, ZTE Corp. (Shenzhen: 000063; Hong Kong: 0763), Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) and other vendors in the CSP space. The consumer business group, which makes mobile devices, checked in with 33% of sales while the enterprise business group generated about 7%.
