Videos: Sneak Peek of Huawei's 5G Vision Mobile World Congress is right around the corner, and the entire industry is gearing up for what is sure to be a week focused on 5G advancements, services, equipment and a fair amount of posturing. Ahead of the show, Chinese giant Huawei showed analysts a sneak preview of its vision for 5G, with the promise of much more to come in Barcelona next week. Leading up to the show, the company held pre-briefings in Beijing and London to outline its vision of 5G, which it sees as powered in part by artificial intelligence and the cloud. According to Patrick Zhang, president of the P&S marketing and solutions department at Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd , soon the industry will reach the "driverless mode" for operator networks. Going beyond the connectivity, it's the services, business models and customer experience enabled by 5G that has the industry excited. It's the future 5G enables that's exciting; however, the industry can't get there without the technology. Huawei also gave a preview of what it plans to announce at MWC in advance of the show: its end-to-end portfolio of products to support commercialized 5G from the network to transmission to the radio and terminal. Huawei says it will be the first vendor to fully support commercial 5G, including Massive MIMO to support both standalone 5G and alongside 4G LTE networks.
