Network Transformation Tops IoT Poll
This is a good article and the network is very important and everyone knows that. It also needs some good network security because with network security it will stop all of the bugs and little disasters that will happen so i totally agree with this.

Re: Security
Security is a big issue and I would agree. I think it's important to keep our things safe from other people trying to get in and hack information. What you said was interesting though that "technology is evolving faster than security." I also agree wiiht this statment. Technology never seems to be slowing down.

I do think that security should still be a high priority for companies and their customers. I'm glad to see that it did come in second and that they still consider security an important issue.

Cultivating Partnerships
I believe cultivating partnerships should be the most vital focal point considering that partnerships will be intrumental in addressing all the other concerns mentioned in the survey, for ex: there are several innovative security companies in the IoT space that could enable Telco's to address the security concern. Reinventing the wheel is not an option to be considered in a dynamic industry such as IoT

Re: 5.5 Million new "things" a day
I have a sneaking suspicion that we will truly transcend this number.   As the proliferation continues, the issue of security will continue to be front and center.   I know the community has underscored this during the current discourse--how is the challenge?

Re: Security
@Afwriter:

I agree. Technology is evolving at faster rate than security. But lately global enterprise is investing lot of time, effort and money to reevaluate their security model and apply changes as appropriate. No matter how much advanced we get in that area, we keep hearing about security breaches on a regular basis.

WiFi door locks concept seems to be gaining popularity slowly. But I believe it still takes time for an average consumer to take that route.

Re: Security
I, myself voted for security because it is a huge consideration for IoT.  The biggest issue is that the technology is evolving faster than security can keep up with, that being said it is also evolving faster than most hackers can figure it out.

I told a friend that I was planning on getting a WiFi door lock on my front door and he quipped that a hacker was going to break into my house.  I laughed because: 1. If a hacker wanted my money they could just hack into my paypal account and 2.  Studies have shown that WiFi door locks are more secure than traditional locks.

Of course network transformation is going to be a top priority for the few years, but eventually we will see categories like security take over.

Security
Security stands second, which is pretty reasonable as well. As we grow more and more with Network next biggest concern will be Security of that transmission. We must admit that that is an ongoing challenge. We see lot of attention to Security in this forum, we can recall our debate when we got to know about F5's new initiative with security and their new leadership for the same. Security is undoubtedly one of the areas that global enterprise is apying lot of attention. That is absolutely a high requirement for any enterprise looking at Cloud, network tranformations moving forward.

Network Transformation
@Mike:

Great Poll and reasonable results i would say. No surprises what so ever.

Network Transformations getting to the top is no surprise to any of us. I believe it is pretty obvious to all of us that is the key transformation needed at present. With more and more demanding need for latency network could one of the constantly evolving areas. As @Mhaagar stated evolution alone wouldn't suffice. There must be revolution in terms of getting into implemenations to fill the gaps that we experience today. Looking around watching all happenings it doesn't seem impossible. We can only expect better things going forward.
