Re: Security
@batye true, it has to be the concern of end users, as well as tech producers.

Things you should do anyway
Saying "security" is "game-changing" for CSPs is like saying "looking both ways before the crossing the street and not jaywalking" is "game-changing" for pedestrians.

Re: Security
That is perfect! Clarity is definitely something that is missing in this conversation. Great point!

@afwriter I'm a big believer in personal responsibility, though I also think that the proviers have to do their part to make their services as secure as possible and to also be clear about the risks for the users.

Re: Security
I agree that it is good that companies are finnally putting more attention toward security, but there is only so much they can do.  We also have to be responsible for our own digital footprint and accept the risks of an online lifestyle.

Re: Security
@elizabethv, I am with you on the gaps in security.  And I totally agree on the phone spam calling.  The Do Not Call list is like swiss cheese - I think they must sell the Do Not Call list and numbers!  We need a security system for that.

Re: Security High Ranking
@clrmoney, agreed.  I believe this also will offer an opportunity for providers to "solve" a real problem - which many are just realizing how big of a problem it is.  Providers can be at the fore front in providing a solution, rather than selling services that are more discretionary.  Big opportunity.

Security
It's good that most people realize security is the most crucial part of the online world. Security dictates where anyone might be willing to give out a credit card number, or even an email address. No one wants to give out an email address just to have it be given out to another company that hounds you with spam. Though anymore, it seems like phone numbers carry the same potential problems. Despite being on the do not call list, it seems like I end up on more spam phone number lists than I can believe. Security without a doubt needs to be the top priority for all media companies.
