Re: Skeptical
@elizabethv, good info., and congratulations on being part of the "in" group.

Yes, I have heard that the 5G will be an even greater advancement - so it should be good.  And there is no reason to not embrace the benefits of the advanced technologies - that doesn't just apply to the younger groups.  In actuality, technology is now more about connectivity and using technology to enhance our lives (i.e., digital transformation), so why not embrace it.  Those who choose to ignore it will be left out of the "connected circles".

Re: Skeptical
5G is definitely the rollout to watch for right now. It will no doubt be all the rage once it does. I think 4G was pretty popular pretty quickly, and I can see 5G being just as much if not more so. I've been seeing articles that millenials now outnumber baby boomers - and I honestly didn't even realize until recently that apparently I'm a millenial. (I'm on the outside of that demographic, and probably behave more as a Gen Xer. I like my phone, and I like being connected, but I can leave it too. I remember life before all this technology bombarded us. But it's here now, and we might as well enjoy it! And if they can make it faster, why not?!

Yes!

Customer service is so important! I find it difficult to have a pleasant customer service experience..I think if more companies focused on that a bit more they would see that they would have much happier customers.

Re: Skeptical
@ms.akkineni, exactly.  The younger groups (the larger growing markets) are not tied to service providers who can't meet their needs - their loyalty is to themselves and who can provide the best service.

Service providers need to recognize the customer is king now and find ways to transform their services/organizations into high quality sustainable service.  That's what will work.

Re: Skeptical
@elizabethv, I share your vision.  The younger group's loyalty is not to the past but to the best technology/service today.  Their priorities are fast/connected/convenient.

Yes, I hear predictions that 5G will toally change the options - this will be interesting to watch.  You can bet the millenials will track and follow the best digital offerings - so service providers better fasten their seat belts!

Can't agree more. Customer Service is one critical area they must shift their focus into. They should reallize that step and effort would only help them to get better.

Re: Skeptical
@DHagar, the younger crowd definitely are going to go for video, 4G and 5G. They want what makes their technology faster, more reliable. They are on the go and they rely on their technology to keep them connected. 5G sounds amazing, and it is most definitely going to be luring in the millenials.

Re: Skeptical
@freehe - Ha ha! Comcast customer service is HORRIBLE! I am always amazed that they manage to do the business they do with their customer service. How can you be notorious for horrible customer service, and still get so many customers? Oh that's right, they kind of have a corner on the market and force people to use them if they want reliable internet.

Yes I agree!

Comcast is a uge successful business, but in order to remain at the top they are going to have to expand. I think it's great that they finally realize how important digital transformation is and how much it can expand their company.

Re: Skeptical
There are other service providers talking about digital transformation. And doing it. NTT Communications being one good example. Best to watch out for actual deeds, of course. But the animus against cable operators can sometimes blind the observer - or commentor - to real change.
