> "only Apple cables, only Apple controller, only itunes..."

I think Apple is slowly moving toward more open accessories.. very slowly..

I think it's a good sign that they adopted USB-C and dropped the Apple MagSafe power cord. Apple is also shifteid toward more open source software, developing on Swift (even though Apple is behind Swift, it's still an open source language).

Apple is starting to allow 3rd parties into its tools like Siri... so maybe these are all signs that Apple understands the days of all proprietary closed devices are becoming obsolete.

Re: IOT Future
I will remind you, though, that a very lucrative industry has grown around Apple that sustains quite an ecosystem.   Although the closed nature of the system can be frustrating, we should not discount it.

Re: IOT Future
@mpouraryan No, We never lost our way in transformation... we are very good and transformational more than enough... what I'm saying Apple need to be more open allow user to use Apple products the way users wants it, instead Apple locking user out... only Apple cables, only Apple controller, only itunes...  Apple user must have more freedom with what cable to use or what device they could attach to they Apple product... Got it :)

So, you're suggesting that they are not transformational enough and seem to have lost their way?  Is that what you're telling us?

Re: IOT Future
@mpouraryan I try always to be open minded... but with Apple for now I vote with my money... and No vote for Apple until they change they way - making it a bit more open to allow true gaming controllers... do not get me wrong I did love Apple... as I do have ipod shiffle - 2, ipod touch 4 - 1, ipod nano -2, ipad mini -1, Apple tv -2, but like I said before I love to play my way....

Re: IOT Future
That's why humanity has to prevail constantly and consistently--something I have continued to emphasize throughout my deliberative process here.     We have to make sure this happens--and hold those who are at the forefront of innovation (Google et. al) accountable.

Glad to see you feel this way--Transformation underscores the need to be open-minded--no doubt.

Re: IOT Future
The spread of Siri, Cortana, Alexa, Google Now... Is going to make user interfaces a bit more challenging -- as users start to deal with "misheard" commands. Also, does anyone else find it a bit creepy that computers everywhere will be listening to everyone all the time? It might raise some serious privacy concerns. (And it reminds me of one the Christopher Nolan Batman movies...)
