IoT Enables Digital
Smart technology is only as smart as the developer that designed it. It is fails it is only a reflection of a bug that the developer or quality assurance team overlooked or didn't catch or management made a decision to allow it in the release.

HGTV has a contest that ended earlier this month for anyone to win a Smart Home. It looked great I am concerned about security. Most companies make security a last priority.

What happens when the smart home networks are cyber attacked? How long will a customer have to wait for the problem to be resolved? Will the windows stay down or the door remains unlocked?

What is the system uptime for smart technology? What is the response time?

What happens if the securty alarm system is cyber attacked? How will the issues be resolved?

Re: I, for one, welcome our IoT overlords...
@Michelle  I keep thiking to get the Canary All-in-One Home Security Device but after problems with Wink/Nest and Logitech Home smart all in one remote... and been locked out of home... I give up on Smart Home... and prefer everything old school... key or old switch... no app or smart controls... too much stress - too much stress... I could not take it ...

Security is really important to me so I think I'll avoid the smart home for a little longer. The Nest acquisition was a scary one in my mind. I always wonder what might happen to customers after such a change.

Sounds like a complete mess just for keeping the house comfortable. I don't envy your troubleshooting schedule for that device. I guess it has trouble doing it's job as thermostat.
