Re: The right spot between one-off and immediately reusable
It reminds me a bit of WordPress's plugins "marketplace" - acombination of "plug & play" options for the less technically adept and visibility for innovative developers.

Verizon IoT Marketplace
This is exciting news. I am impressed that Verizon has 2,000 partners in IoT. It is great that the partners are supportive in the IoT space. It has great potential for being the next great transformation.

Curious to see what apps, services and products the partners plan on producing.

The right spot between one-off and immediately reusable
Finding that place is always a struggle in every part of software development; the user who is paying wants a thing that works for that user, as close to perfectly as possible, the developers and industry in general who are doing much of the work want things as reusable as possible, and the system generally pops up something in between, which is at least satisfactory if not wonderful.  The Verizon IoT Marketplace seems to be structured to let people find that happy middle zone with much less difficulty; that's a really smart move on Verizon's part, as it is very apt to pull tech development strongly their way.
