Re: Video Transformation
Couldn't agree more. It's, in my opinion, the most imortant to have thoughts and opinions coming from the consumers themselves. After all they are the ones buying these things.

Unfortunately, this never happens so I am not surprised why it is not available, the advisor board did not include consumers. It's great to include executive and middle level managers but they always see things from a helicopter point of view. Getting input directly from consumers and not just in a survey or on social media is the best way to determine what consumers what.

Video Transformation Advisory Board
This is great. Video is a top consumer service and companies need to collaborate to continue to provide video as a quality service as well as provide products and services that consumers want and need.

Re: Video Transformation
@dcawrey, very astute assessment.  I believe that it is more entertainment, and the focus on television is the driver today; it's cheaper to produce and can deliver to larger markets through the various channels.

One wonders how it will impact the quality of entertainment over time?

@dcawrey yes, that's about following a formula for success. when superhero films do well, they make more and seemingly endless sequels, too.

Re: Video Transformation
I'd take it a step further and say it's less about story and more about franchise.

Re: Video Transformation
I wonder how much the entertainment industry really wants to talk. Disintermediation is a tough thing. One thing it has done is create a format that caters more towards television more than ever. Movies are now less about story and more about superheroes. That's the entertainment side though, not the technical one.

Re: Video Transformation
@Ariella, true.  Great board, however, it is surprising that the video (more creative, especially with streaming) entertainment industry wouldn't produce some strong candidates, as they are prevalent in the media.

Re: Video Transformation
@Adi if that reflects the industry, then women are seriously outnumbered, much more so than tech in general in which they are said to make up about 30%.
