Couldn't agree more. Fast changing technology is what we're looking at from now on. It's crucial to keep chnaging and evolving into something bigger and better.

Re: Time to stand and stare
Being open minded and embracing change is as the heart of transformation.    What we've deliberated in this regard is in this spirit.    The challenge is to sustain it in a credible, engaging and forward-looking way--change can be scary.  But there is no other way.

Re: DevOps Mindset
@dlr5288  I would say to be true to yourself and others - in any process - what is important... not only team player but to tell the truth as it seems, as this days everyone follow the leader/boss with it thinking... trying to be a good team player...

Re: DevOps Mindset
Good points!

Your point  about the employees being team players is so important. It's easy enough to say that, but to actually be able to agree and disagree with your work peers is super crucial.

DevOps Mindset
Companies must dissolves silos throughout the company and not just focus on the developers, IT operations, engineers and helpdesk. Field employees and customer service employees are also critical to implementing a DevOps approach.

An organizational change management plan must be implemented to change the entire company culture. In addition, some employees will be resistant to change.

Employees will really have to learn how to be team players versus just throwing the term around because it sounds good.

Employees need to see how their work affect their team, department and the entire company holistically.

Company leadership must emphasize the benefits of DevOps - how it will make their jobs easier, save time, money and resources - how it will be a win-win for the employees, company and customers.

Re: Time to stand and stare
@pmassam, thanks for the article, great questions for meetings. I chaired a Configuration Control Board meeting that lasted 2 hours when I first started chairing the meeting. After I restructured the meeting and implemented policies and procedures the meetings lasted no more than 20 minutes each week, sometimes we were able to meet for 5 minutes and accomplish a great deal.

Thanks so much for that! Very helpful -- and definitely three questions, I'm going to start working into my meetings. FYI readers, we are running Agile and DevOps courses on Light Reading's Upskill U free university in Sept., and the Agile Alliance is teaching the first one so perfect timing if anyone is interested!
