Re: Congrats!
@elizabethv: Scott Adams actually devoted an entire chapter (or portion thereof?  It's been a while...) in one of his books several years ago to humor and being funny -- noting that there are six elements of humor:

* Meanness
* Bizarreness
* Cuteness
* Naughtiness
* Cleverness
* Recognizability

...and that virtually everything that is funny has at least two -- and usually at least three -- of the above elements.

He then wrote a blog post expanding on these ideas last year.  Here's the link: http://blog.dilbert.com/post/114667411651/humor-writing-tutorial

Re: Congrats!
My compliments to all my fellow TT friends who contributed, who posted and the winners--if we are not able to laugh at the profound changes we're witness to and enjoy the journey--then what's the point, right?

:)

Congrats!
Congrats to the winners! (I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty excited to have been among the honorable mentions, I feel like that's progress.) Back to reading my latest book, "How to make a great punch line...." So I can beat Joe. :-)

Re: Congratulations to all
I agree, last month's contest was really tough. We had a lot of really good caption entries. It was an entertaining read for sure!

Re: Congratulations to all
Thanks - buffer was fun. But I'm still chuckling over my suggestion that the moderator was waiting for Tripp and Tyler, who may now have an Emmy in conference call satire, to show up for this one. Then again, my kids hate it when I laugh at my own jokes.

Re: Congratulations to all
Thank you, Michelle!

This was a tough one this past month, I think.  And good competition.  Good job yourself (and all)!  Congrats to Faryl, afwriter, and the honorable mentions!

My personal favorites (of those I didn't pen): Faryl's "post-production" caption and jbtoomes's "buffer break" caption.
