Re: IOT will hit 94B in 2025
Does anyone remember the movie Minority Report where the main character was talked to by advertising platforms while running through a retail store?

That's kind of the scary thing about what brick and mortar might try to do to combat ecommerce. I really don't think consumers are going to like some of this stuff, especially if retailers are not forthright about it.

@Ariella, absolutely.  What some businesses do not realize is that the retail market has changed and the buying habits of consumers.  They do their research in many forms now (online and physical) and they do not wander up and down isles any more to research - when they go to shop they have already researched and want a convenient way to complete the transaction.  Totally different dynamics.

@DHagar I've become so used to shopping online that I find it disconcerting to navigate real life stores (other than the supermarket) that entail having to look up and down aisles and displays to find what I'm looking for. Retailers who don't adapt to customer expectations and preferences will end up out of business. Indeed, many have, and even those that are still around are cutting down on their bricks-and-mortar locations.

@clrmoney, it is a good use and opens up new communication channels, with extended markets.  It keeps the cost down and makes it a widely attractive channel.

This is a great model for fully developing IoT in the Retail Market.  It appears that stores are increasingly transitioning to online, even closing their brick and mortar locations (The Limited, etc.).  So it is responding to customers' increased use of online buying.
