BT Gears Up for More Virtualization
I really enjoyed reading this article about virtualization because im a big fan of the virtualization technology these days. I really cant wait to see where this goes in the near future because it can either go very good or go very bad but my guesses are that it will be very good. I also like the technology/servers they are woring with.

Re: Pay as You Go
I agree. I think it's important for companies to listen to their consumers not only because it's in their best interest, but it stengthens the relationship between the two.

Re: BT Virtual
Yeah I think it's really obvious when companies are just in it for the profit and don't really care about the services and/or devices that they're putting out there.

Re: Pay as You Go
@freehe - customers definitely what a "pay what you use" option. It just makes everything simple from the get-go. You know what you're going to use, and you pay that amount. Why more companies aren't listening to this feedback is beyond me. The future of paying for technology is a bit of a mystery, and it would be nice to have companies that are at least listening to consumer demands.

BT Virtualization
When customers hear rip-and-replace, they shudder, so it's significant that BT's Sabey said that legacy networks continue to be relevant due to security and other concerns.

BT Virtual
This shows that BT has great leadership and has a strong mission and vision for the future. They are not just concerned about profit. I think they will continue to do well in the industry.

Bandwidth
""services on demand," which include a bandwidth-on- demand offering is great for the industry. "

Purchasing bandwidth on an as-needed basis is a great option especially for smaller companies.

Re: BT Virtual
@dcawrey, I totally agree. I worked at a few companies that still used legacy systems. Another problem they had was lack of documentation, the original coders either died or were unreachable so when a code problem occurred it took a long time to fix and was a huge cost.

Pay as You Go
That is great that BT is offering a "pay for what you use" model or a la carte. This is what all customers want.

Re: BT Virtual
@Adi Good point, but you'd think they would start writing off some of that stuff after 30 years or so!

I don't know for sure though, I'm not an accountant so I'm not too familiar with how that all works. I know accountants think IT is expensive though, so they might get crafty.
