Re: Qua?
@dcawrey, great question!  I share that evolution with you!  After a while, they become more intrusions.  I don't see them as being sustainable add-ons.

Re: Qua?
Do people really use these digital assistants over a long period of time?

I just have not found them to be very useful. Maybe it's just the technology needs to improve for me to not get annoyed by it.

Re: Qua?
@srufolo1 - good point!  But you never know!

Clearly, plugging in bilingual capabilities does open up new markets - if more companies would recognize that.

Re: Qu'est que ce?
@affwriter it seems fairly common for companies to launch particular services in one country or region and then expand from there later.

I didn't realize that they weren't being offered globally yet, that's a bummer. I would think that they have to be coming to Canada soon, especially with competition from Google now.

I know one playwright who jams with her Amazon Echo, walking around and improvving all the parts at once. The one limitation it imposes is that she can't have a character named Alexa!

Re: Qu'est que ce?
The Echo is a stand alone device. I keep it in my kitchen and I use it to take verabl notes for later, make shopping lists, ask measurements, listen to music, check the weather for the day, control smart devices (lights, thermostat, etc) and a few other things.

Re: Qu'est que ce?
Greetings and Happy Earth Day!!

As I swung by, this comment is "enticing me" to invest in Amazon Echo....it is also interesting to see how "SIRI" is able to read WhatsApp messages...everything being smarter is fun to be witness to..but a bit challenging to...right?

Also, on a side note, it is World Book Day Tomorrow..>Happy Book Day to all!!

:)
