Re: MEF
I can definitely see how that'll be useful. It's crazy how high these prices have become in recent years..

Re: MEF
I'm thinking this might be the thing that pushes me into embracing IOT in my home - just so I can get some smart power strips that might help me with tracking power usage.

It's definitely a learning process. How to cut back in certain areas so your bill isn't insanely high!

Re: MEF
I thought about this comment when I recently got hit with an unexpectedly high power bill. Seems they switched my meter with a neighbor's a few years back, so my usage habits have been based on the low bills I was getting - which really were a result of her staying at her boyfriend's house during the week. Now I'm trying to figure out where I'm being wasteful or using unnecessary power, since I haven't had the "feedback" that usually would result from seeing my bill change to reflect my usage!

Re: MEF
Definitely! I think it's good to have a number in mind and to make plans on how to handle their cost.

Re: MEF
That makes sense. Even if it doesn't reduce costs, I'd think it's important for departments to have better predictability so that they can at least anticipate what their budget needs to account for.

Re: MEF
This is more about cost control than I think people realize. IT departments are seeing some negative affects of things like SaaS when they get huge unexpected bills. These things can be negotiated but I think more software-based networks are really going to clamp down on these types of things.

MEF
It is great that MEF is working to standardize their services and developing standards and policies for a comprehensive standardization plan.

This will help to standardize the industry and improve the overall performance and services provided.

MEF Takes On SD-WAN
If MEF wants to be apart of what SD-WAN has to offer then I'm all for it because it brings value to the services they have to offer for the customers and companies etc.
