Re: Telemetry
I wonder if anyone is using this paired with drones to help better track & understand wildlife.

Re: Telemetry
@faryl Yes, and I have heard this technology has helped us better understand animals and their habitats. Very useful stuff!

Re: Telemetry
I think they use it to track animals - either to learn about migration patterns or keep an eye on potentially dangerous wild animals that may have been captured interacting with humans, to make sure they don't become a recurring problem/safety threat.

Re: Networks needs Telemetry
@freehe It's certainly something useful. Through techbology like this we'll be able to achieve more efficiencies in networking. In some places there are still thorny issues that need to be worked out. Telemetry could help with that.

Combination
In the past companies relied on one solution to solve problems. It is great that companies are realizing that to solve problems may require using multiple solutions. However, this may not be achievable with small companies who have limited budgets.

Re: Networks needs Telemetry
@dcawrey. Yes it is. I see many benefits of telemetry such as detecting software development bugs and issues. Albeit it could affect my field of software testing. It could affect defect performance issues. During testing tools on the market are limited in the type of performance tests that can be execued. Telemetry can help delve deeper to find hidden performance issues.

It Works
I see many benefits in the network engineering, manufacturing and utility industry as well as for cable lines and fiber. It would also be helpful whe installing pipe, cable and fiber in remote and under-served areas.

I would be curious to know the costs for implementing telemetry and the maintenance costs.

Telemetry
As long as telemetry is used to solve problems and make things better it is a good option. However, seeing things like this is harming animals and telemetry should not be used for this.

Networks needs Telemetry
Telemetry can be something different and valuable. We already have the automation somewhat or in the process so with them being with Telemetry just makes it better.
