Re: Masergy Watson
@freehe: They're both arguably unpredictable -- but the behaviors and circumstances of both can arguably be anticipated.

Technology isn't so much predictable as it is anticipatable. But pundits love to predict -- and many of those predictions are true only because they make SO MANY predictions. Statistically, a few are bound to be correct.

Re: Nice Analogy
I think we're always talking positive when it comes to tech. There's certainly some downsides.

@Joe thanks for the link. Though it is not always fun to read the negative stuff it is necessary to get a clearer picture of the state of the industry.

@cweinsch@optonline.net. Yes it is great that it helps companies reduce being held up at customers. This helps save companies money, time and resources.

Re: NFV Growing Up Quickly
@dcawrey, I agree. US-based companies and global companies such as Cisco, Huawei, Ericsson, HP,  Intel, and IBM. As more companies buy-in there will be more opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.

Re: NFV Growing Up Quickly
@clrmoney, I agree. NFV has been around since 2012. It has 3 components VNFs, NFVIs and NFV-MANO Achitectural Framework that are all interoperable.

NFV also works well with SDNs. NFVs can make use of redundant resources without compromsing performance.

Masergy NFV
It is great that Masergy NFV has been used since 2015. It is great that Masergy offers others products such as routers, firewalls and VNFs which helps them gain a wider range of customers.

Masergy Watson
Technologies like NFV are mostly predictable. Toddlers are unpredictable. Masergy's Watson comparing NFV to a toddler is a poor choice. Technology can't and should never be compared to a human being.

Re: Nice Analogy
@afwriter: Yeah, but look at how old the underlying concepts and technologies are. Is it really a toddler, or is it perhaps better described as an angsty, misunderstood, temperamental -- yet promising -- teenager?
