Re: Masergy's Watson
I agree. Having good communication between a company and their consumers will help everyone in the long run. And companies can learn what is expected of them by customers.

Re: Masergy's Watson
Exactly right. There are big threats and then there are really big threats. Like Masergy's Watson pointed out in his analogy with the ants, you don't want to attract a whole bunch of ants by leaving the Oreos on the counter. You have to segment where things are kept so that there is better control of what people are attracted to.

Re: Masergy's Watson
Good point. I think working towards a more secure environment and reminding consumers on what they’re trying to do is important. As long as they’re honest they’ll have people’s support.

Re: Masergy's Watson
@dlr5288 Companies must err on the side of caution. Keeping themselves secure doesn't mean that they don't have people's trust. SDN/NFV are posing a new challenge for them. And IoT is certainly a problem, as the article stated it's the "Wild West."

Re: Masergy's Watson
That’s crazy! I think the security measures is definitely the biggest problem when it comes to business. It can entirely ruin a company. If they don’t have people’s trust then there’s really no further they can go.

Re: Masergy's Watson
@Michelle I'm no security expert, but the total number of threats is probably up there. Even one company, such as Equifax, being hacked affects millions of people.

Re: Masergy's Watson
I hope the ant analogy doesn't extend to the total number of threats looming. I once read there were thousands of insects per square foot/yard (or something). The insects get into the millions really quickly...

Masergy's Watson
Watson's ants analogy is perfect. You keep that box of cookies open, it stands to reason, you're gonna attract ants. We will never be totally secure as hackers come up with new things every day. I see the IoT as being a particular threat, as the article stated.

Re: New Neworks and Similar Challenges
I am curious to see what are case studies especially as we're based with 8.2 Billion connections so far and of course 5 Billion Unique Mobile Users according to GSMA Analysis--the question is what can be done with the view analyzed here--the data itself is staggering and the growth is beyond the pale.....

Re: Looks like a familiar pattern: oldstyle exploits get exploited first
@JohnBarnes:  As always, a "Matter-Of-Fact" analysis that gives us all here in TT food 4 thought--I have also noted how this is indeed the "Wild Wild West"--and although I noted earlier during a visit that we have to be vigliant, there is only so much we can do--no one is safe--and that's the ultimate dilemma here.
