Re: Orange for Digital
@John: And we're starting to see that these days with companies like Google and Amazon (who have come under public antitrust scrutiny in a very non-traditional way, it appears lately). Orange just had a head start, apparently.

Re: Orange for Digital
@dcawrey: Darrell and others at Red Hat have specifically mentioned AT&T, Verizon, and Telus in conversation, so I assume those three at least. At Red Hat Summit this year, I believe there were speakers from Bell Canada and Sprint. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

Re: Orange for Digital
Good to hear about Red Hat's success with Orange. I wasn't even aware the two were working together!

What other big telcos are working with Red Hat?

Re: Orange for Digital
afwriter,

To some extent I think that's in Orange's organizational DNA. Their line of descent traces back to a branch of the French postal service; for most of French history, politicians of left and right have had no problem with state enterprises, and a tendency to aggregate authority, so the old General Directorate (French: direction general)  covered literally everything from mail to telegraph and phone to television and early computer networks. There are drawbacks to giant monopolies owning large parts of the economy (imagine if AT&T was still The Phone Company and also the FCC and the Postal Service), but one advantage to it is that there's no mentality of "that's over our horizon" or "out of our territory." If open systems is the way to deliver it, that's what they use; since Red Hat is a pre-eminent open systems company, that's what they use.  There's no such thing as "not invented here" when "there is no here or there, there is only here."

Re: Orange for Digital
Orange seems to be a poster child for more than just digital transformation. Obviously, someone has to be a leader in the field and it looks like they are the ones to look at. A continued partnership with Redhat and their embracing of openness will only continue them down the path of leadership.

Orange for Digital
Orange has a lot to offer when it comes to implementing things or making it better so this may be valuable in thye digital space to have it because I know that in doing things in digitals there are a lot of up and downs.
