Re: Time of Death?
@Ariella yes, you are right, but politics does play part in it one way or other the way I see it...

@faryl I don't know the details about the videos, but I do get the impression that politics play a major role

Re: Time of Death?
@ariella YouTube has always had a bit of a troll problem, but it seems like lately the trolling has become a bit more organized and targeted. Ironically, trolls seem to be using the tools YouTube has in place for protecting viewers from overly offensive content to silence many of the content creators that are speaking out against some extremely offensive views. (IIRC, there have been a large number of LGBTQ* themed videos that were being taken down as containing inappropriate content, for example)

Re: Facebook does what it does best
It will be extremely intersting to see what Facebook's reaction to the Disney buy-out will be. At this point Disney almost seems to be consuming everything. Perhaps it won't be too long before we are all "cast members," in the great circle of Disney life.

Re: Facebook does what it does best
As I reflected upon your thoughts, the blockbuster annoucement by Disney & Fox about a realignment of the Media Landscape this morning may also prove to be another "profound" roadblock to what Facebook is trying to do.

Interesting times...right?

Re: Facebook does what it does best
@mpouraryan - I can definitely see how that would be the case. Though I really don't see Facebook reacting to the news anymore than McDonald's has. Look at what it took for a reaction from cigaratte manufacturers. And those actually cause cancer. Social media may be bad for your mentail health, but it doesn't cause cancer. I think the biggest issue with Facebook, in my opinion, is that people tend to see the positive aspects of people's lives. They may never hear about the negative aspects of a peson's life. If you think everyone always has a perfect life, and you're the only one suffering from anything, it starts to feel really lonely. I can definitely see how that would effect a person's mental health.

Appreciate your thoughts @bayte--although as I have said before even facebook has to be running paranoid.

Re: Time of Death?
I hope you and the Community has a chance to review the Guardian Article (that has also made headlines around the World)--this is probably the biggest concern that Facebook has to address especially because if folks stop coming, then what?

Re: Prediction for FB..
Without getting too much into the politics of it, the FCC has a long way to go though especially as there is a Coailiton of the Willing that has truly mobilized.   I have had the pleasure to engage through Twitter which I view as critical that I see as directly impacting the Startup I am working to develop, The Daily Outsider, because stories for instance about Comcast inserting its' own Code (despite its' representations to the contrary) should be of concern to all.
