@batye And maybe this is where technology comes in. Smart cities will serve to keep their citizens safe. The same way with smart homes. This is where technology will keep us safe.

@srufolo1 I try to live my life simple way to avoid or bring danger to the miniun... I try to calculate and Re-Think everything... I do not think it will get better I think it will get worst until we see how bad it is and try to strive for change to get better... but it have to be done internaly from the person each person - one person at a time... as group mentality no longer in play the way I see it...

Re: TV & Video
@batye Well, you're not bringing in semi-automatic rifles or anything, so maybe the Kevlar blanket may not be such a concern bringing it in to Canada as you think. The United States is quickly becoming a "police state." And when I took Political Science at the University of Oregon in the '80s, that was the prediction. You have to worry about crossing the street for fear some terrorist will mow you down with a car, or random gunshots will kill you. Will things get any better? I hate to be the person that sees the glass half empty, but, no, I think they are only going to get worse. And we do need to protect ourselves at some level.

Re: TV & Video
@batye  I have to say that bringing into Canada a secondhand Kevlar sniper blanket from the U.S. could raise some red flags. By the way things are going with mass shootings, and just shootings in general here in the U.S., a Kevlar sniper blanket may be a wise investment.

Re: TV & Video
@mhhf1ve history alway repeat itself the way I see...   Mughal Empire bring prosperity across the India... but Since the partition of British India in 1947 and creation of modern states of India and Pakistan, the two South Asian countries have been involved in four wars, including one undeclared war, and many border skirmishes and military stand-offs. I have Indian friends and I have Pakistany friends and all my friends for me they are my friends I do not differentiate... same as with my Palestian friends and Jewish friends they could always find something to disagree... I see people of what they are not cread or nationality/bllod line/heritage... I hope I would never/ever need my Kevlar vest or saw what I seen before... but in this life you never say never... I trust Peace and Negotiation.... but preparation is a must :)

Re: TV & Video
@srufolo1 :) in reality in USA you are better off than me in Canada as in USA you do have many military supply stores and some of them do have good quality second hand items - like decomisioned sniper blanket made out of very good quality USA made kevlar for $50 USD more or less... I would recommend to get hold of one :) kevlar wrapped in ballistic nylon sniper blanket from Vietnam war circa as in my world good quality second hand kevlar sniper blanket have many uses :) but I could not buy it as I imagine Canada Customs agent would have too many question after reading my customes import declartation why I'm brining from USA trip old Vietnam War era Sniper blanket :)  as I do follow all rules/regulation and laws :)

Re: TV & Video
I certainly hope that not "anything" can happen. The rule of law and career government employees will hopefully keep some things in check for a few years.

I, for one, don't want to have to wear a Kevlar vest anytime in the future.

Re: TV & Video
@batye True, in North America, especially with the leadership we currently have, anything can happen. Yet, I still think people live in a bubble thinking everyone is OK when it's not. There is more poverty than ever before, not less. There are other real problems that are being ignored, or not handled correctly. Sew me a vest please!
