Re: TV & Video
As we begin a new month of deliberations here in TT, I thought this might be a good "food 4 thought" as a postcript to your thought as I say...onward:

Re: TV & Video
I will have to check that out as well! I have Netflix as of right now, but you’re right. Their prices are going up all the time and I don’t know how long it’ll be worth keeping.

Re: TV & Video
@afwriter - you had me at "free" and not as much "so-so original content." I immediately went and registered/checked it out and will now likely frequent it as much as Netflix and Amazon. There really is some really good content on there, and that it's free really hammers home my willingness to sign up. That's also going to be a struggle for any new streaming services. The cost of Netflix and Amazon are going up all the time (especially Netflix.) At some point it's going to start rivaling the cost of cable and stop being worth it. And honestly, I'd almost consider leaving Netflix if they ever get rid of Friends. I love being able to watch it whenever I feel like and if that goes away, it may not be worth $15 a month.

Re: TV & Video
Great point! Yeah I feel like a lot of people, including myself, try to continually stay on top of things. Multitasking and keeping up with trends is important.

Re: TV & Video
Crackle is really hit and miss, especially because they have seemed to invest most of their money into so-so original content instead of building a library. That being said, I still check it out from time to time because they have a few gems on there. Tubi.TV on the other hand I think could give the big guys a run for their money if more people knew about them because they have a large library that is add supported so it is free.

Re: TV & Video
@mpouraryan - I haven't checked out Crackle recently, I'll have to check it out. It's hard to imagine a world without Amazon and Netflix on top, and that there are any streaming services that might ever replace them. Then again, I never would have guessed Facebook would have replaced MySpace - back in the day.

Re: TV & Video
One indication of such change is this:  As I am on the road today, I am catching NDTV from India on my iPhone live, listening to Davos live while visiting all here in TT and staying engaged.   The neeed to be adaptable is absolutely fundemental--and I think no one better than all who work and engage in the Digital Space (including yours truly running a Virtual media Startup) understands that.

I definitely agree! I think change is needed when things aren’t working as smoothly and if the public is wanting something different. (Which they always are.)

Re: TV & Video
Let's just remember that change for the sake of change is not necessaiily a good thing..but we can't go back..although at least one of our Cabinet Secretaries at Davos yesterday underscored the fact, for instance, that Fossil Fuels will give us a better life:
