Re: 5G Across the Globe
@batye Yes, quite the showman. At the State of the Union address, there seemed to be more applause than talk about the state of the union. He led the attendants' responses like a conductor of an orchestra. He's Mussolini like in his bravado and narcissistic need for approval, praise and admiration.

Re: 5G Across the Globe
@DHagar Yes, Huawei truly seems to be at the forefront of 5G technology as you can see all those countries are collaborating with it. Can't wait to see what this year holds for 5G.

Re: Clean... Beautiful.. 5G
@afwriter - I suspect you're correct, this is nothing more than chest pounding to get his name out into the media again. People will criticize his actions, he'll send out a tweet, cue pundit shows mocking him. It's a never ending story. Similar to 5G where everyone races to be the first to release 5G. But in the end, people who have a reliable service are unlikely to leave their current carrier for new technology that more often than not is filled with bugs that will need to be worked out.

Re: 5G Across the Globe
@srufolo1, I share your admiration and pick of Huawei as a true leader in telecoms and a promising breakout system with 5G.  I believe they have a clear strategic vision, the leadership, and the capability to deliver on these promises and set the stage for others to follow.

Re: Clean... Beautiful.. 5G
@batye, you are very correct.  We still are attracted to "hype", which gives the super marketers an advantage.  We have not developed the sophisticated discernment with the new technologies to distinguish those who can provide real deliverables versus those who provide vaporware!

Re: 5G Across the Globe
Without getting too political, it is indeed challenging times we have to contend with.   The problem, though, is that such is distracting from the profound problems--including for instance research in transformational technologies that the Government has been at the forefront of.

@batye Yep. Where is the "Great Wall" he's building? Haven't seen any sign of it. Oh yeah, and Mexico is footing the bill for it.
