Intel is partnering with top computer and software companies - HP, Dell and Lenovo. By the end of 2019, the partnership will provide 5g connectivity in PCs. The goal is to provide 5G in time for Christmas holiday shopping season.

Intel will compbine their processors with XMM 8060 5G modems to provide data connectivity to consumers.

This will allow the partner to tap into a new market base of consumers who never used 2G, 3G or 4G and those are interested in 5G and those who are excited about using 5G.

5G Globally
Huawei and Telefónica complete a proof of concept test of 5G  radio for assisted driving. This is great. It will help reduce accidents and hopefully stop aggressive drivers on the road. Assisted driving will also be helpful for the elderly and those with vision impairment.

Re: 5G Across the Globe
@srufolo1, very true - that's what makes a good company - one that can weather, take risks, learn, and grow.  A mark of a progressive company now - resilience!

They also have their challenges with the US rulings and pressure on US companies doing business with them - another test!

Re: 5G Across the Globe
@DHagar Huawei has clearly had its ups and downs, but now it definitely is a company to be admired and respected, as it had the capacity to evolve. Other countries look toward Huawei for its expertise.

Re: 5G Across the Globe
@srufolo1, great points!  They definitely have the strategic vision and apparent leadership to execute that vision.  That should enable them to move into the lead and create the models and networks to keep them as leaders with 5G.

They clearly "understand" the markets!

Re: 5G Across the Globe
@srufolo1 - good observation!  I believe there were Stop for Applause notes all over the speech.  It might have been more effective to let the applause be more natural?  Or maybe it would not have been sufficient?

@srufolo1, yes, it will be interesting to watch.  I think the Olympics may provide a clue, along with the advancement and market growth with Huawei and other leaders.  I believe China may prove to be a leader!

Re: Clean... Beautiful.. 5G
@batye, good analysis!  That is the inherent problem with government making the decisions - it tends to be "how" I want to spend the dollars, as opposed to who has the need and how can I deliver to provide needed services that customers will pay for.
