Re: AR HOT
I'm on a different side -- I like the idea of PokemonGo, but I don't actually want to go out and play. Same goes for fixing things in AR. It seems like a neat thing, but I'm not sure I would actually use it.

@batye: "[G]ame changer" is right! Then-CenturyLink exec Gahn Lane told me in an interview for Telco Transformation last year (link)that AR/VR gaming growth has been on a trend of 2-5x/year.
Re: AR HOT
@mhh: For what it's worth, I remember when Pokemon Go came out, it became a kind of fun meta-game to be on the lookout for and count the people playing Pokemon Go.
As for other such use cases, I read a quip somewhere that the IKEA app is basically Pokemon Go for adults. ;)
You're not the only one interested in AR/VR for how-to-fix-it tutorials. See, e.g., my Telco Transformation Q&A from one year ago this month with EdCast's Karl Mehta (link).

Re: AR HOT
Meh. I'm not that impressed yet with Pokémon Go -- or the apps that try to make reality into a game. I'm more interested in AR tutorials for how to fix things.

AR HOT
I can see why AR is the big thing because I feel like we have been teased with AR for years now and this may be the year where it becomes more plausible.
