Re: NFV Major Role in Transformation
@mhhf1ve Tapes are used to store data, though they are also subject to some deterioration. That's one of the key components of Iron Mountain's business, Offsite Tape Vaulting service to store  backup data, protect it under optimal environmental conditions and retrieve it when necessary. But I thought that was a different type of tape.

Re: NFV Major Role in Transformation
Great article. I agree companies will have to ensure that a hybrid approach is used as several companies still use legacy systems. However, companies in the U.S. are slowly switching to ERP or SaaS as a solution. Companies overseas don't rely on legacy systems as much as U.S. companies. Here is an article from Gartner http://www.gartner.com/newsroom/id/2253215.

Many companies are moving to cloud-based ERP solution. Gartner predicts 30% of businesses will move to a cloud-based ERP by 2016.

In some cases a SaaS solution can provide 70% - 85% of the functionality companies need. In those cases it makes sense to convert.
