That's one of the key components of Iron Mountain's business, Offsite Tape Vaulting service to store backup data, protect it under optimal environmental conditions and retrieve it when necessary. I agree companies will have to ensure that a hybrid approach is used as several companies still use legacy systems. However, companies in the U.S. are slowly switching to ERP or SaaS as a solution. Companies overseas don't rely on legacy systems as much as U.S. companies. Here is an article from Gartner http://www.gartner.com/newsroom/id/2253215. Many companies are moving to cloud-based ERP solution. Gartner predicts 30% of businesses will move to a cloud-based ERP by 2016. In some cases a SaaS solution can provide 70% - 85% of the functionality companies need. In those cases it makes sense to convert.
