Re: Saudi Telecom on OpenStack
@DHagar:
Absolutely, They are a RICH developing country.
I believe this is good move on their end. Though it is limited to their domestic market at this time, there is a huge potential to get into profit mode and may eventually get into global market. This looks like a huge possibility considering their affordability to invest.

> "Saudi Arabia has 35k businesses..."
This isn't a huge market, but it's interesting as a test case for what can happen in a smaller, up&coming market. Saudi Arabia is diverisifying its industrial portfolio (or at least trying to) since most of its businesses have historically been related to or supporting its oil industry. It'll be fascinating to see how (or if) Saudi Arabia can overcome the "resource curse" that has plagued many oil-rich nations.

afwriter, thanks for confirmation. That is good news. It appears that we should keep an eye on the markets in the Middle East and look for opportunities.

@Dhagar You are right, Israel is one to watch as they are making major technological leaps across the board. That is awesome for the US since we will most likely benefit from any of their breakthroughs.

Re: Saudi Telecom on OpenStack
bayte, very true. They are not your typical developing country. They are a "rich" developing country. That should give them some key advantages. Plus, as I understand it there is wealth in the country itself - so this should give them the potential of a profitable market.
