Re: a content platform for every show

Hmm? Apple is slowing getting into the original programming business -- first with Apple Music. I think Apple Music is Apple's testbed for what it's going to do with video. Apple is experimenting with Apple Music streaming, and I think video streaming will follow, along with a monthly subscription service, just like Hulu/Netflix/etc.

Apple is certainly taking its time figuring out how to do streaming, but I'm sure with $200Billion in cash lying around, that it will figure it out. The problem, which you point out, is that Apple already has a robust app ecosystem doing similar things, and it could be risky for Apple to step on too many toes. Apple could scare off developers from iOS (or tvOS), and that's exactly what it can't afford to do with Android waiting to pounce.

Re: a content platform for every show
Apple can't ride on the iPhone revenues forever. That should be obvious. The Apple watch isn't going to save Apple, either. So it's Apple TV or Apple Car...

I really wonder if Apple is going to release a car in the next 10 years. Or if it just plans to sit back for a bit and try to buy Tesla again....

I've wondered if Apple might buy Nintendo someday. Gaming consoles are a difficult business. Xbox has managed to stick with it. Playstation has faltered and recovered. Nintendo would be in a scary situation if not for Pokemon Go.

I actually think the demise of Aereo might have killed off some very interesting possibilities for Apple TV. It would have been so cool to see an Apple TV that could also act as a cloud-based DVR for local broadcast TV.

Does that mean Apple Fiber should be around the corner, too? Or Apple balloons broadcasting wireless internet? That'd be nice to see more competition in the wireless internet space. Google and Facebook both have wireless drones -- where's Apple's wireless drone?

Amazon is working on delivery drones, so it's only a few tweaks to get bigger drones to provide an Amazon wireless mesh network, right?

Also, Amazon needs to have lots of drones flying around to act as decoys, so that thieves are trying to shoot down the ones that look like they're carrying a lot of expensive cargo.

@mmhf1ve I kind of like the idea of Apple balloons. They could be apple shaped with a sky blue part put in for the bite on the logo.

Apple is already scheduled to rake in billions from Pokemon Go... Apple takes a cut from every in-app purchase...
