Re: Auto Play
@faryl - you are SOOO right! Mute needs to be used. I also hate when randomly a video just opens on my phone - why? and the sound starts playing with everything else on my phone on silet - while I'm in the middle of doing something silent. I don't really like my phone making noise unless I want it to, I keep my ringer on silent at all times. So when it just starts making noise, I really just want to throw it far far away.

Re: Auto Play
@Adi - That's interesting. I guess I'm not normal. Who knew? I tend to get more frustrated when the video isn't playing and I'll click it then just to see what the video is about. If it's already playing, I'll happily just watch in silence until it bores me.

Popularity features
"Prioritize trending or popular videos: Popular videos should be showcased at the top -- the most popular video should be the first one the site visitor sees."

I'm not so sure about this tidbit.  I for one get pretty tired of alway seeing the same "popular" feature highlighted on the page when I'm not the least bit interested in it.

Should it not instead feature what's trending with people with similar watching patterns to my own?

Or, better yet, go back to Netflix's old system of making intelligent recommendations based upon how I rate content.  Too bad nobody seems to do that anymore (least of all Netflix).

Re: Auto Play
@faryl: Indeed, for all of the talk and hype about how mobile video is the future, video content providers sure aren't making their video sites very mobile-user friendly.

@elizabethv: Of course, you're clearly not on a mobile limited data plan.  ;)

Re: Auto Play
@elizabeth I hate having videos just start playing, too. But for those trying to contact you, keeping your phone on silent can be frustrating. My daughter does that, and then when I try to call her, I just get voicemail, and she remains oblivious.

Re: Multi-media
Me too! I think it's important to keep the viewers attention. And if it's easier for them to read the points than to watch them then I think they should be included!

Re: Auto Play
I'm the same way!  I don't like it when game apps play music or sound effects when you open them either.  I'm always turning the volume on my phone as low as it goes to avoid it.

Re: Auto Play
@Adi I hadn't considered that. (maybe more than curiousity, it's the desire to make it just stop playing already! :-P )
