Quite social
I see this application as quite social. People will pass around the VR headset and talk about what they're seeing.

But you're right -- if all you get is the experience of virtually sitting in a room watching a game on a screen what's the point?

Re: Quite social
Mitch - You may be right about the headset-sharing. My sense is that people will be engaged in conversations, and plays on the field -- in that situation, I don't see too many people looking for a turn with a headset, to see a replay from a different angle. I guess we'll see next week -- hopefully Fox will publish some stats on actual usage.

Re: Quite social
It would be great to see some stats. If the Super Bowl doesn't draw VR users I am not sure what would.

Re: Quite social
batye - that would make a lot of sense. In fact, from my conversations it does seem that gaming and maybe some mobile apps are going to be the initial drivers of VR, not TV.

Re: Quite social
That would definitley put Nintendo back in the console game, but it all depends on execution.

@Adi yes, I could not agree more as it does reming me how gaming change the video card market in the 90's... and it could be a deciding force...

Re: Quite social
This is cool as a gimmick, but I'm not sure I would want to spend the entire game in virtual reality. I've used VR before, and it's really only good in smaller doses. At least for now. Hopefully that will change.
