Re: User generated video...
Interesting to me that Zuckerberg hired a pollster--and been Touring the country--but beyond that in response to @Bayte et. al, the affordable tech is already here--the question is whether the major players today will allow it to flourish--or will "Devour them"!!

Re: User generated video...
I'm not saying it always takes a lot of money to produce good videos. Kevin Smith made Clerks for a pretty low budget. But it's not easy to do. I think there's a studio that exclusively produces low budget films and it does okay. So it's not impossible. http://www.npr.org/sections/money/2015/09/11/439632877/episode-650-the-scariest-thing-in-hollywood

Re: User generated video...
@mhhf1ve - I've seen some pretty good videos coming out of colleges lately. Granted they're the larger ones who probably have pretty good access to more professional technology. I know quite a few people who work for the University of Phoenix - as I used to also - and their technology students seem to release some decent videos.

Agreed! But it's expensive to produce high-quality content, generally. Vimeo just recently announced that it's not going to pursue a Netflix-original programming strategy for precisely that reason -- it's way too expensive to do correctly. Only the tech/media giants can afford to do it, and there's still a pretty big chance of failing. eg Apple's first attempts at producing content so far.....

Re: Blocking MLM
Ah, well, Facebook will probably adjust its algorithms so that you don't see those videos in your newsfeed as much if you tend to skip over their videos, anyway....

If only there were a longer-term solution to the problem of MLM schemes?

Blocking MLM
Blocking MLM videos would be FANTASTIC - but if I had to bet, it'll never happen. There are far too many users out there doing it, and realistically, I don't see there being anything against the rules in doing so. Normally they have their own separate "business" pages for them and run the Live Videos through there. Truthfully, I did agree to follow their business pages, because I'm too nice. I suppose I could low-key go through and unfollow the pages and most wouldn't notice. Or maybe they would when they went on the hunt for new customers and they'd come back and pitch to me again. Heaven help us all.
